Our Bloggers tour went to Berlin a week ago in collaboration with Visit Berlin. We stayed in this cool Michelberger Hotel were the rooms were big, lobby cosy and Mojitos tasty!
On our first evening we had dinner at Cookies Cream restaurant. It was a fun experience with a gourmet vegetarian menu. And you should take a visit to just see were it is located ;)
On the next day our first meeting was with Fashion for home. The brand is quite new and was founded by Marc Appelhoff and Christoph Cordes in 2009. They make made-to-order, high-quality, designer furniture that is smart for every budget and looking after the environment is one of their top priorities. We were so happy to start our trip from their showroom. There was this delicious breakfast waiting for us and after a few cup of coffee and a little chat, we were spread into two groups and were given a task to style pictures by using furniture and accesories from Fashion for home.
I was in the first group and did something minimalistic together with Allan and Gerard. The second picture was made by Igor, Anna, Desiree and Emma.
Later in the evening we had a quick visit at Frantastic Frank Berlin and after that we were invited to have a dinner at SUPERGRAU. That place was a amazing. One another more and more beautiful design products. I just could not take my hands of my camera and I almost forgot to eat. Furore lamp was one of my favourites from that shop. Also the Expose shelf and Hangar wall lamp were so great designed that I almost bought those to myself.
On the next day we had our guided "green design" tour, with Visit Berlin and our guide Miriam from Go ART! It was about aspects of Berlins creative, eco, fair, sustainable lifestyle, art and design, concepts stores and meet the people beyond. The tour was wonderful and we visited some nice places like: Green Living, Noodles Noodles & Noodles corp, Aedes, Imago camera and Voo store. But again there was this one place were my eyes hands and camera were like glued together. It was called Manufaktur HEER. HEER horsehair mattresses and leatherworks are all produced exclusively by Daniel Heer. The place was just so wonderful with all the metal tools, fabrics and leather pieces showing on the table. We were able see the material and production process behind each handmade piece in the collection.
