
sometimes, a half baked idea is not such a bad thing. i’ll explain. i quite like the idea demonstrated here in these images of creating the illusion of wainscoting, but with paint. colorful, or a subdued gray, it all looks quite clever, and is quite easy to DIY, too. i did this in a previous apartment with black chalkboard paint and it was a snap — just taped off the area and painted away — maybe it’s time to do something new around the cottage. regardless, this is great way to delineate space, create a ‘faux’ headboard; and the idea translates well to sprucing up some old furniture, too.
